Can You Say Thrilled? At Age 69, Dame Helen Mirren is the new face of L’Oreal Paris!

Were you as excited as we were to hear that actress Dame Helen Mirren, at age 69, was named the new face of L’Oreal Paris recently? For a brand like L’Oreal to choose an almost 70 year old woman as the face of its brand was a ringing endorsement for what we’ve been sharing with furniture, lifestyle and kitchen and bath brands –> baby boomer women want to be sold products by other baby boomer women who are at a similar life stage as they are.

We are so happy to see smart, major consumer product brands like L’Oreal giving endorsement contracts [ known by another name in social media circles as national or international brand ambassadorships ] to fabulous baby boomer women who inspire us to feel our best, look our best, and, in Mitzi’s case, as well as Dame Helen Mirren’s, women who encourage us to feel and look sexy, enjoy our husbands, our homes, and our professional lives with vitality, wit, panache and grace… right up until the very end.

Bravo to you, L’Oreal, for taking a giant leap and realizing how important it was to choose a face we can relate to and aspire to be like as we live our lives forward and want makeup that can help us look pretty, polished and natural.

We would love to record a conversation between Mitzi and Dame Helen if they were ever to meet on Mitzi’s patio here at her #BoomerSmarts living laboratory home in Wichita, Kansas.

True beauty and wisdom are ageless and it’s so exciting to see that smart, major brands are now realizing that baby boomer women TRUST mature, vital women, like Helen and Mitzi, who have tried and use, themselves, the various products marketers would like us to buy.

 

It’s also very encouraging that these smart brands are now recognizing that our demographic has more disposable income to spend on kitchen and bath remodeling, home furnishings, luxury interior design services, travel, health, wellness, financial planning, etc. than any other age group .

It is illuminating – just like the beautiful glow of health that emanates from both Helen and Mitzi’s faces.

Bravo again to L’Oreal Paris — and out we go to buy something we never would have tried before now, L’Oreal Paris: your mineral based foundation.

The reviews online are mostly excellent and for $12.00 , the price is definitely #BoomerSmarts,  as Mitzi would say with her trademarked hashtag!  We now use Bare Essentuals, which is much more expensive, so watch for our own review of this foundation in the comments on this post, later this weekend.

And Dame Helen Mirren, from this picture of you in your youth, below, to the you of today, please know that – to us – you are more beautiful and more sensual than ever. You rocked your Jenny Packham gown at this year’s 2014 Golden Globes and we love that you have left your face natural.
